A bunch of friends are heading out tomorrow for Portugal for the Euro 2004 soccer tournament. It's a huge event in Europe and I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun. I went back and forth on whether I was going to go, but ultimately decided against it.

I just saw an awesome article that said Portuguese police are going to allow England fans to smoke pot during the event, because stoned fans are less likely to fight than drunk fans. A similar policy worked for Dutch police with Euro 2000 when England hooligans were too stoned to fight. good stuff.
