Amazonia by James Marcus.

Since I have a decent book queue built up, I've started the new habit of reading myself to sleep at night (replacing the old crying myself to sleep habit. j/k). This new habit helped me finish Amazonia by James Marcus pretty quickly. My only real complaint about the book is Marcus makes lots of literally references to authors and books that are way over my head. He's obviously very literate and I'm not, but that's OK. It's a well-written story and some good history from the 55th employee at Amazon.com. If you are into dotcom history at all, i highly recommend the book. [ Salon Excerpt ]

Up next (i believe, but I'm not positive) is What's the Matter with Kansas? : How Conservatives Won the Heart of America by Thomas Frank. I need a good political book to get me all angry. :-) There's a good chance I'll also start another book or two at the same time (something tech/geek related and some sort of novel).
