It's cold. My hands and feet are blue. That's not good or normal, is it?

After a ridiculously cold trip to Vegas (it snowed there!), the weather back in NY wasn't so bad when I returned. There was a note waiting for me when I got to my place that informed me that while I was gone cracks were discovered in the building's boiler and repairs couldn't wait. They would be repairing it from Monday to Wednesday (or Thursday) and the building would be without heat. The letter noted that weather forecasts predicted it would be in the 50s, so it shouldn't be completely unbearable. They suggested we purchase electric heaters. Normally my place is ridiculously warm. So much so, I typically leave a window open during the winter. So the first few days of no heat were OK, but it's Wednesday today I'm wearing many layers of clothing and freezing. I called to get an update and I'm told that it “should” be done by today. I sure hope so, otherwise I'm totally going to start a small fire in my living room.

Once the boiler is fixed, I'm going to start doing some yelling at building management. There are two things that piss me off: 1) why weren't the cracks discovered before the season started? It's not something that happens overnight. 2) When I went out yesterday at 3:30, I saw the repair guy's van. When I returned at 4:50, it was gone. WTF? Shouldn't they be working 24/7 or at least 18 hours a day to get the thing fixed?

Oh, and for the record, it snowed last night here. “In the 50s” my ass.

All else is really well tho. Crazy busy. I hope to be posting some more updates soon on both my blogs.
